University Overview
USQ has been recognised as a world leader in the fields of distance education and tertiary study initiatives. USQ is a dynamic, flexible and innovative University whose staff and students pride themselves on being responsive to the technologically aware global market place. Students choose to study at USQ across five faculties - Arts, Business, Education, Engineering and Surveying and Sciences. USQ Toowoomba campus is one fo the most modern and well equipped in Australia. The Phoenix building is a purpose built Arts/Business building that houses the Australian Graduate School of Business. It incorporates world class teaching facilities including Harvard style lecture theatres and syndicate rooms. The University library provides students with an extensive collection of texts and journals as well as extensive online databases.
The Clive Berghofer Rec Centre is one of the nest equipped regional sporting facilties combining high tech gymnasium equipment, Olympic standard basketball, netball courts and aerobics centre. In its early days the centre established itself by playing host to a variety of live performances including Tina Arena, Human Nature, Matchbox 20 and the Seekers. Three coeducational residential colleges - McGregor, Steel Rudd and Concannon provide accommodation and meals for more than 450 students. There are also a number of private student residential villages and apartment complexes adjacent to campus that provide excellent quality accommodation.
Undergraduate
USQ has a good reputation of providing students with industry-based undergraduate degrees in a flexible and supportive environment. Students have an option to study on-campus or via online or distance education. The university offers undergraduate courses in business and commerce, creative arts and media, education, health and community, engineering and built environment, humanities and communication, information technology, law and justice and sciences.
To apply for an undergraduate university degree at USQ, students must have a recognized previous academic qualification. Undergraduate students can gain international experience and intercultural skills by participating in USQ's study abroad and study exchange programs. Scholarships are also granted to eligible students studying a bachelor degree.
Postgraduate
USQ offers a range of postgraduate degrees with a wide selection of study areas, which can be undertaken by students through coursework or research. Study areas for postgraduate studies include business and commerce, education, engineering, health information technology, law and justice and sciences.
The university also offers flexible study options for postgraduate students such as on-campus, distance education and online study. USQ postgraduate research scholarships are awarded to new students of exceptional research potential undertaking a higher degree by research. Recipients of these awards will receive a stipend.
Study Online
Undergraduate and postgraduate study online degrees are available at USQ with numerous study areas including business and commerce, creative arts and media, education, health and community, engineering and built environment, humanities and communication, information technology, law and justice and sciences.
External students will gain access to online classrooms 24/7, electronic libraries, downloadable study materials and a wide range of support services including a student help desk, online orientations, online consultations, student forums and chatrooms and access to competent tutors who can be contacted through chat, video and by phone.
International Students
USQ overseas students can choose from a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate study areas. International students can also study English language programs to prepare them for entry into a USQ degree. The university acknowledges the struggles that overseas students encounter in Australia thus, USQ has prepared numerous support programs and services.
Prior to arriving in Australia, international students are briefed accordingly with regards to the necessary preparations, flight bookings and accommodation. Free transportation is also available at the airport once the student arrives. Orientations, briefings and international student scholarships are as well available to international students.

University of Southern Queensland tuition fees vary depending on student status and the course being undertaken. International students are generally required to pay the full fee for undergraduate study while both local and undergraduate students can be required to pay the full fee for postgraduate study. Scholarships
USQ offers scholarships to outstanding domestic and international students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and participation in the wider community. Students may also be eligible for scholarship if their ability to achieve full academic potential is affected by financial hardship. Scholarships are available for both future students and continuing students.
A considerable number of external scholarships are available at USQ. Students are eligible to apply for scholarships offered by other organizations and Australian Government departments. Examples of these scholarships include world nomads scholarship, Roberta Sykes scholarship, the ACAS/ Coca-Cola agriculture scholarships, fullbright scholarships and stayz scholarship.
University Life
University life at USQ isn't just about studying. USQ has student programs and events that enrich the university experience of students outside the classroom. Students may join a social sporting team, get involved in a student club or even develop their leadership skills. Student parties, trips, workshops and seminars are also part of student life.
To make students feel at ease and comfortable, the university has a wide range of available support services. Guidance and career counselling, housing services, medical and dental services, peer mentoring, scholarship and financial grants are examples of support programs. Aside from all these, the university has sporting and recreational facilities and fitness centers which students can use anytime.
